3 in 1: shampoo, conditioner and gel

The 3-in-1 is not a cosmetics decision, it is an operations decision. It washes body and hair and conditions in one step, and what you are buying is not the formula: it is a room going from three bottles to one.

The arithmetic behind it

A bathroom with the full range carries shampoo, conditioner and gel: three containers to buy, store, carry up, set out and check at every departure. With the 3-in-1 it is one.

• Purchasing: one reference instead of three, a shorter delivery note and an easier minimum order to reach.
• Storage: a third of the space and no stock sitting idle because the one next to it ran out first.
• Room attendant: one check per bathroom instead of three. Multiplied by rooms and by days, this is the heaviest line.
• Waste: one container per room instead of three — a real argument in the sustainability conversation, and a verifiable one.

And what you give up

This has to be said, otherwise the page is no use for deciding. A 3-in-1 washes well, but not better than a dedicated shampoo. The formula has to be mild enough for skin and effective enough for hair, and that balance has a cost: on long, coloured or very oily hair a demanding guest will notice the difference against the frequent-use shampoo.

The practical rule is category. In 4 and 5-star properties the guest expects separate products and the restocking saving does not outweigh looking like a cut. From tourist category downwards, and in apartments and short-term rentals, the 3-in-1 is almost always the right call.

Formats

It comes in a 450 ml bottle for the room, a 1 L refill and a 10 L jerrican with a tap for your own restocking.
